March Wine Tasting

Okay, so usually I write about Austin or Saige, but this time its about ME! My lovely best friends and sister went together and bought me this AWESOME gift for my 30th birthday! Its a 12 month sample of wine! I was so pumped.
Teresa marked each with a month and so on March 1st, we opened the 1st bottle. I was a Cabernet Sauvingion from Austrailia. Needless to say, not sweet enough for me, but really good to cook with. We ended up using it for a pasta dish (to be shown later when I get the pic uploaded!) Very YUMMY!!!

Playing in the Snow!

When it snowed in late January, we couldn't resisit playing outside for a few minutes. We showed Austin how to make a snow ball and throw them. He really didn't want to come inside, so we gave Bix treats and then came inside! He relaly likes to help Daddy!

Pudding Face

Need I say more? Austin discovered that he REALLY likes chocolate pudding. He helped me make some for dessert one night and as he was eating I was cleaning the kitchen. He asked me for a napkin and when I turned around this was the face I saw!! I had to go get the mirror so he could see his face!! He said "I make a mess!"

Painting of Austin

This is a painting that was painted by a HS students in Northern Kansas. I was very impressed by her ability! This was the first painting she did of a person! She asked my mom; who is friends with her parents, if she could use a photo from their photo album on Facebook! I was shocked when it appeared on her post one day tagged with mom's name! So cool; I wish I had it!!!

New Hat

Austin and I went to visit Uncle Dave for his birthday today. Since we had to make a run to Wal-Mart to get more items to hang his curtains....Grammy had to spoil him!!! We found a new "big-truck" (monster truck) AND a Lightening McQueen hat! So this evening I asked if I could take his picture and he apparently loved the idea so much me made me take like 10 pictures including both mommy and daddy!!!
(I'm not including them because mommy and daddy don't pose in our Pj's!!!)

Christmas 2009

Austin made cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. He of course wanted to do it "by myself"!! Then later that night when it was time for bed, he tried to "steal" Santa's cookies. (Check out the video of our conversation about leaving them for Santa to eat!!!)

"Say Cheese!" Austin was eating a powdered donut yesterday morning and I couldn't help but take a picture with his new haircut! Before he was finished, his shirt looked a little less red than before!!!

"B" the infamous companion

We took some family pictures at Thanksgiving this year. While we were waiting our turn, I had Austin sit down on the bench with his bear, "B" and I caught this picture of him. He looks so innocent....but he's 2!!!!

Halloween

Yes, I know, here it is Thanksgiving and I'm just posting Halloween. Sorry, busy time of year!
Austin was a dinosaur for Halloween. He wasn't all that into it, so we didn't visit but just a few houses here on our street. He ended up with the flu the next 2 days, so.... maybe next year.
We also carved pumpkins with the Hazel family. YES, that is a Jeep pumpkin. It didn't turn out to be quite the way we thought it would be, but we have a better idea for next year. PS: The Jeep is running -- check out the post titled, "Mudding in the Jeep"

Happy Holiday's

Hello Family & Friends,

I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our family is doing well despite the "terrible two's" with Austin. I have to admit the saying is pretty true, however, there are some moments in our everyday life that just crack me up!!!! If you are a parent, I'm sure you remember hearing the words you say come out of YOUR 2-year-old's mouth and think, "Oh crap, do I really say that?" Its been really entertaining as he has grown so much and can carry on conversations and make requests! Not sure we're ready for a 2nd child yet, but.....

The shop has been busy despite the economy's state. Luckily we had larger jobs lined up from before the big blow to all sorts of jobs markets. School has been going well too. Last year we took a large change in my department; we no longer teach a combination Kindergarten/1st grade. I currently teach 15 - 1st graders and am really enjoying it! I was skeptical at first because it was something I'd never done, but its turned out really good so far. I enjoy watching them grow and change into readers and writers throughout the year.

I hope you enjoy your holiday season's and are blessed throughout this time with your families. Enjoy your look around the blog for other events that I captured on film this year.

Take care and God Bless,

Saige, Kelsey and Austin

We had a ball at the OK State Fair, but come 9:00pm, Austin of course knew it was bedtime -- and despite the very LOUD trucks, he dozed for close to an hour before we called it quits!

Nana & Papa with Austin at the Monster Trucks in OKC. He LOVED IT!

Momma, Look at this.....

One evening, Austin and I were waiting on Daddy to get home from work. He climbed up in Daddy's chair and the next thing I know, I hear, "Momma, look at this!"
He had taken the salad OUT of the bowl I put it in and tossed it on Daddy's plate. I asked him what he was doing, he replied, "I fix it, for Daddy!" I left it for Saige to see, and of course he was very appreciative!! SO CUTE!

Saige's 30th Birthday

We celebrated Saige's 30th b-day at the house. My sister shot pics of Austin's cousins and I playing Ring-Around-the-Rosie's in the back yard.

Saige's mom and I made him blow out candles!!!! And the last photo is of all the "guys" sitting on the couch. If only you could have heard the conversation about diapers and sippy cups! LOL!

Austin and Daddy fishing.....I couldn't believe how many times Austin caught the same blue (rubber) fish. LOL! He was just as excited the 10th time he reeled it in as he was the 1st time. Kids are hilarious!

Summer Pics

These are just a few FUN pictures from this summer. Austin mowing the "dead" grass. And the lotion smiley face he loves me to put on his belly after his bath.

Vacuuming

I know I've posted other pics and video of my son vacuuming, but this cracked me up! He asked if he could vacuum for me, and this is what I caught on video. I didn't get the best part though, he was actually moving things to vacuum around -- HE'S RELATED TO HIS NANA!!!!

Bitsy Spider

Austin really likes the finger-play, "Itsy-Bitsy Spider". Here's a video of me singing (sorry!) it and him doing the actions!!!

First BIG OUCHIE!!!

Austin had his first BIG owie today. He fell and hit the corner of a set of cabinets at daycare! :(
He had to get 2 stitches. Mommies can't handle that stuff, ya know. I'm going to pray that this is the only one for the YEAR!!!

Austin and Joscie in ONE of the boxes the fireworks came in! Who knew that packing peanuts were such a cool toy?
Sean riggin' up the 20 shot!!

The Grill Man -- our awesome neighbor who was a chef in another life!!!

1 display; YES that is a 750 shot Saturn Missle!!!

Closer view of the 20 shot; its good to know a plumber who is a pyro!!!
